About the Artist

Jackson Walden (1980 -     ) is the middle name of an American artist, entrepreneur and student doctor.  He founded Popduds LLC in the spring of 2006.

Growing up, Jackson Walden was an early adopter of graphic editing software like Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop.  At 17, he was one of 25 national recipients of the 1st Annual Computer Art Scholarship Program sponsored by the Imation Computer Corporation.
Walden frequently uses photographs as source material for his graphic design and at 18 he was selected as an international finalist in the 62nd Annual Kodak International Newspaper Snapshot Awards (KINSA).  His work has been displayed in the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN and the National Geographic Museum in Washington, DC.

Community outreach has also been a passion of Jackson Walden.  While attending Johns Hopkins University, Walden served as the Student Director of the JHU Tutorial Project which paired undergraduate volunteers with Baltimore City elementary students for after school tutoring.  His experience inspired Walden to incorporate philanthropy into his company.
Each season, five charities are selected to receive a portion of the quarterly profits.

In college, Jackson Walden also pursued his passion for music and the brain while completing his BA and MS in Neuroscience.
His thesis work investigated how the human brain processes the syntax of music using subdural electrode recordings.  The research project was conducted in collaboration with the Peabody Conservatory of Music and the Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Neurosurgery.  Aspects of his work have been published in the British medical journal Brain.  Jackson Walden currently resides in Charleston where he is pursuing his doctorate at the Medical University of South Carolina.
